Despite the cloudy weather, we had a great group of volunteers for Love Your Block. Close to 30 adults and children came out to beautify Upham’s Corner. We cleaned all the major streets, municipal parking lots, Nellie Miranda Park, and planted flowers along Columbia Road. We had a pop up art station featuring a neighborhood artist. She created various drawings on mini-canvasses that were amazing. We ended our day with a pizza party at Boston Pizza & Grill.

Many of our volunteers were first timers visiting the neighborhood or connecting with UCMS. It was great to see all these people come together.

Special thanks to the Christ the King Dorchester, Boston Flower Market, Boston Pizza & Grill, Upham’s Corner Health Center, and the City of Boston for helping us make this possible. We look forward to daffodil planting in the Fall.
